It’s that time of the year when the who’s who of tinsel town gear up to ring out the old and ring in the new. This time, Dubai seems to be the hottest destination for most of our big stars. And incidentally, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, who have long ceased to be friends, are in the Gulf city at
around the same time.

The celebrity Salman’s family — parents Salim and Salma, Helen aunty, brothers Arbaaz and Sohail, their wives Malaika Arora and Seema, children Arhaan and Nirvaan, sisters Arpita and Alvira, brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri — flew off to Dubai on Sunday morning to celebrate the actor’s 45th birthday. The family is believed to be staying at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Dubai, where they will be joined by buddies Sajid and Wardha Nadiadwala, David and Laali Dhawan. However, the celebrity will have to cut short his holiday to shoot for Bigg Boss on December 31. It is learnt that he will head to his farmhouse after the shoot.

salman forgives john Abraham

http://newb4u.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/Salman-and-John-ends-wars-turns-friends.jpg

The ability to forgive and success are interrelated. Success can make you happy, and when you are happy, you can forgive anyone easily. Currently, celebrities Salman Khan is exemplifying this state of mind.

Recently, Salman made up with his long-time foe John Abraham in Mehboob studios. These two actors were not on talking terms for more than four years now.

The patch-up took place on the sets of Rohit Dhawan’s directorial debut Desi Boyz, which stars John Abraham, Akshay Kumar, Chitrangada Singh and Deepika Padukone in the leading role, which is being produced under Eros International banner. On chancing with Salman Khan on the sets, John wondered how Salman will react after seeing him.

When they made an eye contact, John smiled. Noticing the discomfort in John’s eyes, Sallu went over and hugged hum. An eyewitness says, “Actually, they both took a few steps towards each other. However, the hug took everyone by surprise. Past that, there was a big celebration on the sets. Salman and John even had lunch together.”

The reason why Salman came on the sets of Desi Boyz, the source says, “Sallu came to meet Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt who are acting in the film. Sanjay’s name was recently added to the cast for a cameo.”

Ages ago, the differences started increasing between Salman and John over payments at their Rockstar stage show in 2006. By the time they came together to work in Ravi Chopra’s Babul, the animosity had increased and it reflected on-screen as well.

After this John continued to work with Salman’s then girlfriend Katrina Kaif in Yash Raj Films’Â New York. Meanwhile Salman refused to work with John’s girlfriend Bipasha Basu. The director duo Abbas-Mastn had decided to cast Bipasha and Salman together in a mega project, but the instant Salman came to know who the heroine was he turned down the offer.

This year in June, Salman ended his cold war with Bipasha, though in this situation it was Bipasha who took the first step towards reconciliation. At the award ceremony in Sri Lanka, Bipasha walked over to Salman’s room and spoke to him at length. Since then the two have learnt to maintain a cordial relation with one another. Bipasha attended Salman’s Being Human fashion show as well.

Ram Mirchandani who is the Chief Creative Officer of Eros International was also present on the sets. He confirmed saying, “Yes John and Salman met very warmly. Salman had some to visit Rohit, John, Akshay and Deepika.”

Well, as it’s said all’s well that ends well. We wonder if Sallu is planning to forgive Vivek Oberoi….

Jail Bird Linsay Lohan

http://www.music-atlas.com/images/artists/lindsay_lohan_7.jpg

Last week, California Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel ordered Lohan to begin serving a 90-day jail sentence on July 20 for violating the terms of her probation on drunk driving charges because Lohan had missed alcohol education classes. Since then, Lohan's previous attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, resigned and media reports surfaced on Thursday this week that Lohan hired Shapiro but may be trying to avoid jail.

"I have agreed to represent Ms. Lohan on the condition she comply with the terms of probation, including a requirement of jail imposed by Judge Marsha Revel," Shapiro said in a statement on Friday.

"Ms. Lohan is suffering from a disease that I am all too familiar with. Hopefully, I can be of assistance to Ms. Lohan and Judge Revel in implementing a treatment approach recommended by medical professionals for Ms. Lohan's long term recovery and sobriety," the statement said. Shapiro is a well-known Los Angeles attorney who has represented many Hollywood stars over the years, and he was part of the "dream team" of attorneys who represented football player O.J. Simpson in his trial for the murder of his wife.

Shapiro's son Brent died in 2005 due to a combination of drinking alcohol and taking the drug ecstasy. Since then, Shapiro has been dedicated himself to helping others overcome their own addiction problems. His family started the Brent Shapiro Foundation as well as the Pickford Lofts sober living facility in Los Angeles that Lohan was said to have checked into earlier this week.

Lindsay Lohan Leaving Rehab

http://images.pictureshunt.com/pics/l/lindsay_lohan-3850.jpg

Lindsay Lohan
is apparently being allowed to leave rehab for a bit this weekend in order to go shopping for a new home.

The actress reportedly believes that her current apartment is far too accessible to fans and paparazzi. It is unknown how long Lohan will be let out of the Betty Ford Center for this endeavor.

However, it seems like a good idea that she is shopping around for somewhere a little more private.

What do you think about Lindsay Lohan leaving rehab for this?

Vidya Balan's 'Dirty Picture'!

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_RcKKJyYRqh4/TNpOyCy_-rI/AAAAAAAADs4/7JZslfFzvmk/s400/vidya-balan-hot%2Bpics.jpg

Vidya Balan's
performance prowess needs no corroboration. But when you learn that she will be playing a character loosely based on the South sex-symbol Silk Smitha (who featured in string of soft-porn films in the 80s and early 90s), it certainly generates a lot of curiosity. While a formulaic filmmaker would have thought of casting someone like today's sex-symbol Mallika Sherawat to portray the character of a yesteryear sex-symbol, director Milan Luthria chooses Vidya Balan for the role in his film A Dirty Picture .

"I wanted the casting to arouse interest. At the same time I wanted a process of discovery to happen with the film and lend a new dimension to Vidya Balan", says Milan. While Vidya Balan has largely restricted herself to the girl-next-door image, she displayed a hint of her sensual side in Ishqiya .

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpjZtzbt4qsoAOYcWAzNdbTdgiq1RuV_YN5m_4vOA7fnBdfO7aBEtJKX4q3E77TOxSC7Hfpena-1DP-mWYZp3LbeBzCEuus-SvE00ekJMd_Idg3_o_JtDHMt_Cn7n3FryOxx9-vpZ-WNE/s400/lrg_Vidya+Balan+hot.jpg

Will she take it a step further in A Dirty Picture ? "Everything from sex, sleaze and exposure will essentially be a part of the character", assures Milan clarifying in the same breath, "But I am not an exploitative filmmaker. I want to capture the dramatic and moving side of the story. For that I wanted an ambassador who would not only add sex-appeal to the character but also bring a certain element of emotion and class".

So can we expect to see Vidya Balan at her sexiest best in A Dirty Picture ? "Definitely! Vidya will have a complete image makeover with this film. She will represent Indian sensuality at its best" claims Milan. And how does he plan to achieve that? Milan puts forth his point giving references, "Every actress from Waheeda Rehman, Hema Malini, Sridevi to Madhuri Dixit have, at some point of time in their career, exhibited a very sensual side of theirs.

We will try to capture that sensual side of Vidya with this film". Concurrently he emphasizes that painting a dirty picture is no easy job and it's very important to get the right shade. "There
will be a certain level of rawness to the sensuality but at the same time it has to be captured very tastefully. We need to strike a balance and ensure that it does not look cheap".

Reportedly Vidya had reservations about the role and also laid her conditions before signing on the dotted line. Milan doesn't deny.

"Vidya had reservations regarding a lot of things and not just skin-show. When an actor plays an actor onscreen there is a tendency to get too absorbed in the character. Also Vidya wanted to understand the entire emotional graph of the character. The so-called reservations were more of questions that she had about her character and its portrayal which were answered. Having said that let me tell you that there will be no compromise on the portrayal of the character in any way."

Smooching Substituted For Content In Bollywood?

http://img.bollywoodsargam.com/albumsbolly//Bollywood_Actresses_Kissing_Scenes//Mallika_Sherawat_and_Emran_Hashmi_Smooching_Scenes_16_05_01.jpg

Up until recently, lip-locking in Hindi films was considered too ‘bold’ and Western for the Indian audience’s palate.

But such scenes started making sporadic appearances after the much talked about Aamir Khan-Karisma Kapoor kiss in Raja Hindustani — a benchmark for all kisses that it triggered off in its wake. The frequency has gone up since with filmsMurder (Mallika Sherwat-Emraan Hashmi) followed by Jism (Bipasha Basu-John Abraham),Dhoom 2 (Aishwarya Rai-Hrithik Roshan), Jab We Met (Kareena Kapoor-Shahid Kapoor), Kaminey (Priyanka Chopra-Shahid Kapoor),Anjaana Anjaani (Priyanka Chopra-Ranbir Kapoor) and continuing as we see Deepika Padukone-Imran Khan puckering up for one in an upcoming release.

But have such scenes substituted for content?

Cinema is evolving along with the audience, says Jannat director Kunal Deshmukh. “Kissing is not unnatural for two people in love. So, what is wrong if that is shown on screen too? Having said that, I also feel directors should not cash in on it. One such film that, unfortunately, got hyped for its sexual content than the subject was Kurbaan.”

To which filmmaker Rensil D’Silva, who directed Kurbaan says, “What happened with my film was not planned. And no filmmaker would want their film to be projected in that way as I believe that films that sell on lip-locks and skin-show lack content.”

Actor Emraan Hashmi, who’s earned the moniker ‘serial kisser,’ has no qualms about kissing onscreen. “It is not that I always want to kiss in every film. If it is the requirement of the script I don’t mind doing it, otherwise I too get apprehensive about it.”

While Emraan needs no convincing to kiss on screen, actor Hrithik Roshan had to, reportedly, be convinced by his Latin heroine Barbara Mori to agree to do a full-blown smooch for the film Kites because that is what lovers would do in real-life.

Salman Khan patches up with John Abraham

http://www.glamsham.com/movies/scoops/10/nov/salman-khan-john-abraham.jpg

In Bollywood, friendship is volatile as the sensex. Salman Khan, the bad boy of B-Town, is known for his increasing number of enemies like with Vivek Oberoi, Shahid Kapoor, and John Abraham featuring on top spots.

Recently this Dabangg star extended the olive branch to his enemy of four years, John Abraham.

The feud between the two started back in 2006 during the “Rockstars” tour. It is said that the two hunks had certain financial issues and it resulted in Salman severing ties with John.

The two was seen sharing screen space in Babul but the cold vibes between them could not go unnoticed. Salman's bitterness splashed over to John Abraham's sultry girlfriend, Bipasha and Salman refused to work with her.

This unpredictable patch up took place at Mehboob Studio on the sets of Rohit Dhawan's directorial venture Desi Boyz. Sanjay Dutt has been roped in to play a cameo in the movie starring Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and Chitrangada Singh. Salman had arrived on the sets to meet his buddies, Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Kumar.

When John saw Salman on the sets, his discomfort was evident. Not knowing how to react, the No Smoking star, John gave a hesitant smile. The next thing that happened took everyone by surprise; Salman Khan and John Abraham hugged.

Indian Film Industry - The Forthcoming Future

http://i.ytimg.com/vi/PYxQOGZrTEU/0.jpg

There is a clear cut relation between demand and supply. The same is the case with one of the most glamorous industries of the globe, the Indian Film Industry. The industry has undergone a plethora of changes over the last century or so and continues to evolve. The thing worth noting is that the changes are not only at macro level but at the micro level too. The whole set up is undergoing a holistic change and one can expect some really good quality products from various film production houses.

The industry being the largest in terms of volumes of films produced is indeed undergoing a mutation. The average consumer is asking for more variety and keeping with the demand, the industry has started travelling on uncharted domains. Once known for their gimmick flicks and illogical story line, the whole genre of Indian movies are transforming into something much more substantial. With a keen eye, if anyone prods the movies and content being released over the last couple of years, one can easily note the difference between the qualities being presented in front of the audience.

The changes are not only in terms of better graphics and other stuff but move beyond that into better story lines and punches. Not surprisingly, movies which were once restricted to the Indian subcontinent are finding humongous takers across the world. Movies which were local in character are now mutating into entities having universal appeal.

A noted film star was seen commenting that people abroad mocking the Indian Film Industry are going to have their boots in their mouth in the decades to come. Indeed his prophesy is coming true and with the current scenario prevailing, it is but obvious that a movie buff is in for a treat.

Another aspect undergoing a marked change is the resurgence of actors that may or may not be good looking but are very fine actors in themselves indeed. Konkana Sen Sharma, Rani Mukherjee and quite a few have their own fan following and have carved a separated niche for themselves over time. The fact remains to be seen that how much more this trend develops. The proclivity is not only in lead roles rather side actors are also gaining in terms of more gravity regarding acting. Actors such as Boman Irani and others are in the league of their own.

A crucial factor that is determining the industry these days is not only how a movie is made but actually much more than that and a movie does not actually finish with last shoot itself. A movie these days is publicized by lead actors and other casts. Reality shows have become a platform to publicize movies on small screen. Teasers of movies are actually rolled out on the web to create an overall image and a feeling of euphoria regarding the whole movie. In fact how well a movie is publicized these days goes a long way as to how it ends up.

The Magic of a Bollywood Movies

http://www.pazikahuntress.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Bollywood-Movies.jpg

Indian Bollywood movies started off in the real sense with the genius of Guru Dutt and Bimal Roy. Although India had seen a moving picture earlier but these two people really laid the roots of the success story of today's Bollywood. Movies like 'Pyaasa' by Guru Dutt and 'Bandini' by Bimal Roy really defines the excellence of Indian movies and moreover of Bollywood. These were the pictures that can be cherished forever and have became the foundation stone of the Hindi Bollywood Movie.

Different actors and actresses became household names during different phases. There was Dilip Kumar who made the character of 'Devdas' his own. Then there was Rajesh Khanna who perhaps played the greatest role of his life in the film 'Aradhana'. However the King of Bollywood movies is Amitabh Bachchan. The 'Jay' of the film 'Sholay', or the 'Vijay' of 'Deewar', He still rules the filmdom world. Whether it is his 2008 blockbuster 'Om Shanti Om' or the old and the strict principal in the film 'Mohabbatein', the actor has crossed one after another performance milestone. The current phase of Bollywood has it's hero Shah Rukh khan who is perhaps the next sensation after the king. With many hits films he is surely a great actor.

All Latest Bollywood movies is popular everywhere today. Canadians, Africans and anyone can buy movies of Bollywood. Indian superstars are now becoming global superstars and the stadiums are always full when anyone of them goes on a world tour. Actors like Naseeruddin Shah now act in Hollywood project: 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'.

Bollywood film festivals now are being frequently organized at overseas locations. The favorite choices being Mauritian capital Seychelles. Major festivals like the Film-Fare Awards, Zee Cine Awards and the IIFA awards get held in places like Bangkok, Lancashire and Montreal. Actors like Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan can be seen walking the red carpet in the famous Cannes film festival

The internet is also not exempt from Bollywood movies. Many websites offer upcoming film promos and CD's and DVD's are available of most of the latest hit movies within a month of their release. Career Blunders in Bollywood, What Bollywood Actors and Actresses Missed On

http://s.chakpak.com/se_images/124133_-1_564_none/all-bollywood-actor-wallpaper.jpg

Let us look at how rejects of some bollywood actors made stars of others!

Pradeep Sarkar was miffed over Vidya Balan having rejected Konkona Sens' role in Laga Chunari Mein Daag. The smart girl stuck to her role in Heyy Babby and rejected LCHD. The verdict was out: Vidya Balan had a cent percent success rate in Bollywood for 2007 with hits like Heyy Babyy and Bhool Bhulaiya . Good for her that she did not do LCMD! Now let us look at some of the career blunders, mistakes that Bollywood actors and actresses have made. Let us look at the original choices of the hit Bollywood movies which were to star with actors who eventually walked away! Though they may say that bygones and bygones, they cannot refute the fact that these movies would have definitely made them bigger stars if not legends:

Shahrukh Khan: Rejected Lagaan and Munnabhai MBSS. Wonder how bigger he'd have risen if he had been a part of these movies. Unfortunately SRK was busy to allocate time for Lagaan and he was unsure about how the first time Raj Kumar Hirani would direct the film. Shahrukh Khan also rejected the role of flight lieutenant Ajay Rathod because he found that the role did not have sufficient depth and also because of the fact that he did not want to play second fiddle to Aamir Khan in Rang De Basanti. The role eventually went to Madhavan. Imagine how Rang De Basanti would have looked if Aamir, Shahrukh and Hrithik were in the movie! But the most commendable thing is Rang De Basanti still emerged a huge hit and a cult favorite even without star power of Hrithik and SRK.

Aamir Khan: Rejected Darr because he was conscious of the negative image and he was also denied a joint script reading with Sunny Deol. This really turned SRK's career on the upswing as he won the confidence of the Yash Chopra camp. Movies like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Dil Toh Paagal Hai, Mohabbatein and the ilk are the pleasant aftereffects which SRK relished.

Salman Khan: Rejected Baazigar because he thought it wouldn't work. In a humorous dig, Salman Khan has also commented had he starred in Baazigar, he'd also have built Baazigar. Rejected Kal Ho Na Ho(which ultimately went to Saif Ali Khan). Rejected Chak De India. He wanted a high amount of money for Chak De India

Kareena Kapoor: Though she is famous, she'd have got have easily been a top bracket star. Look at the movies that she dropped out of: Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, Page 3, Kal Ho Na Ho. All these three movies were written with Kareena Kapoor in the mind but she had other priorities. Kareena Kapoor reportedly told Karan Johar in Koffee with Karan that she regretted missing out on Kal Ho Na Ho. Most of her reasons for not doing these movies were monetary.

Hrithik Roshan: He dropped out of Bunti aur Babli because he was busy with Koi Mil Gaya. He missed out on three good movies: Rang De Basanti, Dil Chahta Hai and Swades. Hrithik Roshan was to do Siddarth's role in Rang De Basanti. But Hrithik wanted to do Aamir's role. Rakesh Roshan on the other hand stated that Hrithik Roshan could not do the role because he was busy doing Krrish. There was another actor who walked out of the role due to creative differences. Read on to know more. Hrithik Roshan was also offered the role of Saif Ali Khan in Dil Chahta Hain which he did not do. Saif's career skyrocketed from Dil Chahta Hai. Hrithik Roshan also could not do Swades because of date problems.

Aishwarya Rai: Aishwarya Rai was the original choice for the movie 'Chalte Chalte' SRK's home production. She had even shot for some scenes. However there was always problems on sets due to intervening of Salman Khan while his then girlfriend Aishwarya Rai would work. There was an instance when Salman pursued Ash all the way to the sets and created a ruckus. SRK did not take this too politely and removed Ash from the movie. In walked Rani Mukherjee as Ash was shown the exit.

Vivek Oberoi: He walked out of Hum Tum because he thought he was worth a lot for the role The film eventually went to Saif Ali Khan. It is Viveik's biggest career regret because Saif Ali Khan got the Filmfare best actor in a comic role and also the National Award for the Best Actor.

Twinkle Khanna: Rejected Kuch Kuch Hota Hai thinking it was a minuscule role. Though the role was small, I am sure it would been impactful than the entire set of sloppy movies the actress did in her career!

Bipasha Basu: She was the original choice for the Dhoom babe, the role which eventually went to Rimmi Sen.

Akshay Kumar: Lost out on a dream debut 'Phool Aur Kaante' which went to Ajay Devgan. Akshay Kumar was busy with Deedar.

Arjun Ramphal: Arjun Ramphal was given Siddarth's role in Rang De Basanti. However he walked out of the movie because he found the creative team undisciplined. He even spoke on Koffe with Karan that he had no idea of the role. So he walked out in frustration which eventually turned to be a goldmine for Siddarth.

From the above, it is visible that two stars who benefited the most out of offers which were rejected were Shahrukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan. Both of them took the risk and profited immensely. This data is mostly of films that were released in the 90s and the current decade. Do put in your inputs and comments if you know other star rejects which worked wonder for others.

Hollywood Or Bollywood - Which is Superior?

http://www.bollyan.com/uploads/2010/03/bollywood-hollywood.jpg

There was a time when a multi-stared film with item numbers created spark and did a good business at the box office. But at present, things are changing very fast and the Bollywood is adopting western style and techniques which is quite evident in some of the recent movies like Kambakkht Ishq, Love Aaj Kal, and Blue, etc. Hollywood stars and celebrities such as supermodels, pop singers, or famous actors, are entering the Bollywood film industry. Though critics may criticise Bollywood against Hollywood saying that the total earnings of Bollywood in 2006 were just half of the earnings that only one Hollywood studio, Walt Disney made in 2006. But the fact is that Hollywood is mesmerized by Bollywood. Bollywood has a great deal to present to Hollywood and similarly Hollywood also influences Bollywood.

Which one is superior, Hollywood or Bollywood? The discussion is endless. Though Hollywood is quite ahead of Bollywood in terms of revenue, Bollywood's influence in the world film industry is gaining new heights. Hollywood's earnings do not depend on ticket sales only. It has adopted the proven 'franchise-formula' in which a big part of the revenue or income comes from other sources such as TV networks, magazines, home-videos, etc. No doubt, Bollywood is also considering this aspect to promote its business. But revenue is not the only factor that one should take notice of, there are other aspects also to be considered, such as story, music, song-and- dance sequences, photography, technology, etc.

The main difference between Hollywood and Bollywood commercial movies is that song-and-dance sequences is an essential feature of Indian films. Professional play-back singers sing songs which are lip-matched by movie characters played by actors and actresses. While, there is no such thing like song-and dance in Hollywood. Therefore, they are attracted towards Bollywood. Bollywood films are a good source of entertainment presenting anything and everything, quite like a Santa Claus gift bag, whereas Hollywood films focus more at the cinematic knowledge.

But, things are changing very fast these days. A time may come when there would be no difference in Bollywood and Hollywood. Particularly after the success achieved by 'Slum-dog Millionaire', can we expect more movies where Bollywood come together with Hollywood? In the coming times, you will see Barbara Mori paired with Hrithik Roshan in an Indian film 'Kites', and likewise, an Indian actor Anupam Kher will act in Hollywood's top director Woody Allen's film. After winning Oscar awards for an Indian film Slum-dog Millionaire, the difference between Bollywood and Hollywood has reduced and it is becoming a joint venture. May be, one day we see Sylvester Stallone dancing around trees in an Indian film and Hrithik Roshan playing James Bond in a Hollywood film.
